Hypnosis is Not a Deep Trance

The first question I am asked is always about the state of hypnosis itself.

"Will I be unconscious?" (No.)

"Will I have any recall of the session?" (Absolutely.)

"How can you do therapy?" (Most people assume they won’t be able to talk at all in hypnosis, and the exact opposite is true.)

"Do you use a pendulum?" (No.)

"How can you do it over Zoom?" (Entering hypnosis is all about the position of your eyes – I guide you to look up – and the tone of my voice.)

"Will you make me cluck like a chicken?" (Never. Pop culture portrayals of hypnosis are not what happens in a therapy session. You are completely safe.)

"Can you make me do things against my will?" (No.)

Hypnosis is nothing more than the alpha brain wave state, and you enter it naturally in your daily life multiple times a day.

Have you ever driven home on auto pilot, and when you arrive you don’t remember focusing on stoplights or turns? That is the state of hypnosis.

Have you ever been so immersed in a film that you laugh, cry, feel startled or jump at a noise? That is hypnosis, and you’re experiencing it with your eyes open.

During a session, you always remain fully alert.

You are always completely in charge.

You can open your eyes at any moment.

You can end a session at any moment.

The alpha brain wave state allows you to access your subconscious, bringing greater clarity and understanding of any issue. Hypnosis is where the magic happens - the magic of stepping into a new reality of your own choosing.
